Student Work Samples

The following examples of student work highlight the varied accomplishments of students I’ve taught between 2008—2025. These examples range from prompt driven coursework, independent projects, collective group work, collaborative workshops, intermedia events, exhibitions, and projection design.

Storytelling with Light and Shadow Workshop (2022)

Carnegie Mellon University | School of Art, School of Drama, and Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences

A workshop that I co-organized with Nica Ross at the Frank-Ratchye STUDIO for Creative Inquiry, and Stephan Caspar in the Department of Modern Languages at Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The event brought together artists from Manual Cinema, Eightfinity Studio, and Wishnok working in collaboration with students and faculty from Carnegie Mellon University School of Art, School of Drama, and Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The event happened at Carnegie Mellon University, School of Drama: Studio 201, March 31 — April 2, 2022. During the three day workshop, participants were exposed to techniques in shadow play, projection and sound design, and were prompted to create original short-form works that told stories through the interplay of light and shadow.
