The Immersive Cultural Innovation Fund: Storytelling with Light and Shadow (2022)

Carnegie Mellon University, Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Languages, Cultures & Applied Linguistics

This initiative to seed deeper intercultural connections across the university. Our work funded several cultural exchanges, made possible by a generous gift from a university alumnus. Facilitated through Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the fund was developed to celebrate cultural differences while deepening common interests and social ideals through creative exchange. The fund supported “Storytelling with Light and Shadow”, a workshop that I organized in collaboration with Nica Ross, Director of the Frank-Ratchye STUDIO for Creative Inquiry, and Stephan Caspar, Associate Teaching Professor in Media Creation and Multicultural Studies. The event brought together artists from Manual Cinema, Eightfinity Studio, and Wishnok working in collaboration with students and faculty from Carnegie Mellon University School of Art, School of Drama, and Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences between March 31 — April 2, 2022.
